In today's Anthem MRX 740 review, we'll take a look at one of their latest releases, and how it stacks up against other, better-known brands. Anthem MRX 740 Review (7.2 CH 4K AV Receiver) Their latest fourth-generation MRX series of AV receivers released this year includes three models, the MRX 540, the MRX 740 we tested here, and the top-of-the-line MRX 1140. All of these products have similar capabilities, but they differ in the number of processing channels and built-in amplifiers. The MRX 740 we used for testing is the middle unit in the series, and it has 7 channels of built-in amplifiers and the ability to handle up to 11 channels through an external amplifier.
